Leonard Nimoy as Spock in Star Trek: The Original Series
By now you may be aware that Leonard Nimoy passed away at the age of 83 in Los Angeles today. Nimoy was a sci-fi and pop cultural icon, best known for his portrayal of Spock, the cerebral half-human, half-Vulcan from the Star Trek franchise who valued logic over emotion.

"I loved him like a brother. We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love."

The internet will be flooded with remembrances of the life and cultural impact of Nimoy. Here, at the Current, we thought we'd honor Nimoy by pointing out that he was more than his signature Star Trek character. You lived long and prospered, Nimoy. May you rest in peace.
