With Texas Comicon 2016 coming to San Antonio at the end of this month, it’s time to start thinking about cosplay ideas and how you plan on sticking out in the crowd (if that’s your thing). Sure, it’s easy enough to toss on a comic-book-inspired shirt or the Ghostbusters costume and proton pack you’ve worn for seven consecutive years, but where’s the fun in that? Instead, why not get a bit more creative and don something that shows how proud you are to be living in the Lone Star State? Here are 10 Texas-inspired movie cosplay ideas in case your Davy Crockett coonskin cap just isn't going to cut it this year.
Anton Chigurh, No Country for Old Men (2007)

It might be a bit difficult to get your hands on a captive bolt pistol like the one Anton (Javier Bardem) uses to kill, but for this specific costume it’s all about the hair. If yours is long enough (and you’re open having an embarrassing do for the next eight weeks, go all natural). If not, find a wig you can shape and make sure the part on the side is perfect. Then, find a nice denim jacket, a dark shirt and jeans and some boots. Before you know it, you’ll be ready to start creeping the hell out of fellow Comicon attendees by staying in character and calling everyone friendo.
Billie Jean Davy, The Legend of Billie Jean (1985)
Corpus Christi teenager Billie Jean Davy (Helen Slater) is inspired when she watches a Joan of Arc movie, so maybe you’ll feel the same sense of female empowerment when you chop your hair into a crew cut and put on a striped, sleeveless jacket,
dangling earrings, and some fingerless black gloves. After Comicon, hitchhike with friends to Vermont. Bernie Sanders is waiting.
