An LGBT advocate and vocal critic of Mayor Ivy Taylor filed an ethics complaint against her today.

Justin P. Nichols, an attorney representing the first three people to utilize San Antonio's amended non-discrimination ordinance, which Taylor voted against, filed the complaint. The ordinance added protections for sexual orientation and gender identity.

Nichols alleges in the complaint that Taylor failed to report income she earned through her husband's bail bond company.

"Taylor's spouse, Rodney Taylor, is the licensed bail bondsman under which Marshall Bail Bonds operates. Upon information and belief, Taylor's spouse holds an economic interest in Marshall Bail Bonds, and/or owns, manages, and/or operates Marshall Bail Bonds, and/or receives an annual income from the same in an amount exceeding $5,000," the complaint states.

Taylor told the San Antonio Express-News that leaving that income out of her annual financial disclosure was an oversight despite the fact that she hadn't reported the income since she was first elected to San Antonio City Council in 2009. The mayor told the daily she would amend the reports.

Nichols has criticized Taylor, saying her efforts to give the amended NDO teeth fall far short of the mark. Taylor is not a friend to the LGBT community, according to Nichols.

Oh, and did we mention that election day is Saturday and Taylor is a mayoral candidate?
