What started off as a one-time deal has now turned into a weekly cult ritual for Alamo Beer
(202 Lamar St.). Beer, Bacon and Bingo Night is back starting today at 6 p.m. with bacon available for purchase through The Box Street Social
along with house brew. The bingo games themselves are free with prizes each round.
Another event on our radar is the brew company's First Annual FatherFest on Sunday, June 21. Alamo Beer is giving cheers to dads with cold beer and free entertainment while simultaneously supporting Pints for Prostates
, a charity that raises awareness and supports health screenings for prostate cancer. The fest includes a Kiolbassa Sausage Cook-Off (featuring SA Current's Food and Nightlife Editor Jessica Elizarraras as a celebrity judge), family games and "Dad Stuff" like trucks and cigar rollers. Live entertainment for the event includes the Rick Cavender Band and Two Tons of Steel.
Beer, Bacon and Bingo: Free admission, prices vary; 6-9pm; FatherFest: Free Admission, prices vary; Noon-6pm.
