This year's theme will be "Celebrating Love: Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Brown" ... no, it's "Something Blue", obviously. Just trying to have fun with this ballet thing right here.

Here's the schedule, for all you lovers of pirouettes, plies and the art of the prance.

Don Quixote
October 14-16, 2016
H-E-B Performance Hall, The Tobin Center

The classic Spanish tale of "Am I crazy? Or is the world crazy?" Perfect for election season. Follow Cervantes' aging but well-intended knight in this brilliant story packed full of romance, intrigue, bravery and gallantry as the company promises a ballet full of "bravura dancing and exquisite costumes."

The Nutcracker
November 25-27 and December 1-4, 2016
H-E-B Performance Hall, The Tobin Center

Tchaikovsky's iconic ballet will feature new choreography and festive costumes. You know it, you love it; even the kids can get onboard with the hilariously, immature title and the vibrant yuletide spirit weaved throughout this classic late-Romantic Russian ballet.

The Sleeping Beauty
February 17-19, 2017
H-E-B Performance Hall, The Tobin Center

Witches, fairies, sorcery, true love's kiss, The Sleeping Beauty fulfills the blue requirement from this year's theme as the good fairy godmothers battle over the color of princess Aurora's wedding gown and against Maleficent, the evil sorceress who intends to destroy the princess and send the kingdom into darkness.

Ballet in the Park
March 2017
Travis Park, Downtown San Antonio

This free performance will feature mesmerizing movement in the beautiful setting of downtown San Antonio’s Travis Park. Open to the public, the family friendly Ballet in the Park is a perfect evening for dance enthusiasts and those looking for a unique downtown experience, without those pesky bums that used to, gasp, try to sleep in what should rightfully be a largely neglected center of tourism and downtown-goers.
