Punk's not dead, its just fallen on hard times. In an effort to pay tribute to the forefathers of punk and give a platform to rising bands, Remember the Punks couldn't have come at a better time. On Saturday, October 1, the Remember the Punks festival will go down - and if done right - tear down Alamo City Music Hall (1305 E. Houston Street).

Headlined by literal crusty punks ('cause they're old, get it?) The Vandals, The Exploited and MXPX and supported by punk resurrectionists PEARS, Potato Pirates and SA's Piñata Protest, Remember the Punks is condensed into a one-day non-stop onslaught of power chords, abrasive melodies and obligatory mosh pits.

Presented by Twin Productions & Korova Entertainment, the show's full lineup will feature over 25 exclusively punk rock bands on two stages. Along with the headliners, old-school hardcore act Sick of it All, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Casualties, SlapShot, Sloppy Seconds, The Toasters, D.I., TSOL, The Dickies and Anti-Nowhere League, the bill will be rounded out by local Texas bands 30footfall and Lower Class Brats.

Tickets for the fest, starting at $49 for advance general admission and $150 for VIP, will go on sale Friday, May 27 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at Twin Productions' website
