Earlier this month the wait was finally over for the much-anticipated debut of the City’s new cultural website, sahearts.com. I was eagerly looking forward to the arrival, which was postponed a few times. (I’d like to thank the Office of Cultural Affairs’ Linsey Whitehead for keeping me well-informed during the arduous process of unveiling the site.)
The site isn’t too much of a stretch from the the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau website, but the focus on the sahearts site is, well ... arts. With special features like a calendar dedicated to art happenings in the city, artists of the month (January features Alex Rubio and Vincent Valdez), creative-class job announcements, and links to local cultural-arts websites, sahearts.com has the essentials right now, but I really can’t wait for more special features to come (suggestions: add audio/visual clips of past performances, chats with local creative persons `let’s recruit San Anto’s actors, playwrights, illustrators, etc.`, and a forum that allows people to speak their mind about the local creative community).
The site is also part of a marketing campaign produced by Bromley Communications. Just to state the obvious now — San Antonio Current ? art, too.
