The Happy Foundation is introducing ballroom dancing for GLBT couples, every Saturday at the Bonham Exchange, beginning March 4.
We can’t get married but we can still dance! Beginning March 4 and recurring every Saturday, join the ballroom brigade for a series of GLBT dancing classes presented in the Rainbow Ballroom of the Bonham Exchange, 411 Bonham. Straight allies of the GLBT community are also invited. Lessons will be presented by Let’s Dance Studio and guided by instructors Ruben Arce and Gracie Kempf. Classes will be held 8-9 p.m. and cost $8 per person per session. Instructors will remain after the lessons for further assistance. M2M and W2W along with coordinator Gene Elder invite the local community to help revitalize ballroom dancing in conjunction with the Happy Foundation. A different classic ballroom dance style, including tango, cha cha, rumba, fox trot, waltz, and swing, will be taught each lesson. Call 271-3811 for more information.

Join Finesilver Gallery, 816 Camaron, for SAY Sí’s Ninth Annual Small Scale Work for a Larger Cause, 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, March 3. The silent auction features more than 130 artworks by local and regional artists. Food will be provided, as will music by George Gaytan and David Underwood. There will be three progressive closings of bidding groups throughout the evening. SAY Sí is a year-round, non-profit, multidisciplinary arts program that provides San Antonio youth with artistic and social opportunities. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling 212-8666.
