The first rule of fight club is: do not talk about Fight Club. So we can't tell you about the story of a depressed insomniac who frequents support groups to which he has no connection and finds himself engaging in bare-knuckle brawls to feel even the slightest spark of life. We shouldn't tell you that this gives way to a world of pain, misfortune, and chaos. David Fincher's adaptation of the Chuck Palahniuk novel is gritty, dark and mean. It's humorously satirical, and cruelly criticizing. Wonderfully shot and incredibly acted. It may not be cool to like Fight Club anymore, but that doesn't make it any less a masterpiece.
