Foodies not content to wait for Thanksgiving have a grand excuse to celebrate at the beginning of the month with The New World Food & Wine Festival, which runs from Tuesday, November 1, to Sunday, November 6. Loosen your belts, this year the Festival’s planners have added three days to accommodate the growing number of culinary demonstrations and classes, and wine tastings and seminars.
Now in its sixth year, the festival will showcase the Alamo City’s restaurants and chefs, as well as visiting chefs and winemakers from Mexico, Miami, Manhattan, and Texas, in more than 45 events that explore the diverse cuisine and wine of Mexico, Latin America, and Spain, as well as the many agricultural products of Texas.
From a winery lunch at Becker Vineyards to a black-tie dinner honoring the culinary contributions of Oaxaca, Mexico to a Central Market cooking class with Andrew Weissman to a family-friendly afternoon at Rio Cibolo Ranch, even the most fussy gourmand is likely to find something appealing in the week-long festival.
