In the same spirit, you might expect Grupo Mojado to be mildly political. You might anticipate songs about the homeland or of creating community in a new, sometimes hostile, surrounding (à la Los Tigres del Norte and the corridos exhibit at the Witte Museum). Instead, Grupo Mojado excels at música romantica, along the same lines as Los Temerarios: love songs in the form of syrupy ballads and danceable cumbias.

Perhaps best known to readers as a stop on the Sex Pistols' legendary 1978 tour, the current bingo hall/ballroom still has a reputation for bringing in big-name acts on a weekly basis.
