Comprised of emerging artists from San Antonio and Houston, The CRITT Project (Conversations Representing Individual Thoughts Together) aims to spark creative dialogue across the Lone Star State. Curated by Almendra Castillo (aka Almondcastle), the collective’s “Ugly Pretty Things” brings together sculpture, photography, drawing, installations and performances by Castillo, Cinthia Gomez, Pink Leche, Yma Luis and Jessica Sailors. Favoring a fleshy palette, the group show investigates “the underlying truth behind a beautiful thing” while touching on themes of insecurity, shame and desire.
