Oh, holy hell. First it comes for our Blue Bell ice cream
, now listeria monocytogenes is going after our mashed chick peas, the healthy thing we eat to make us feel good about ourselves.
Sabra announced yesterday that a the threatening bacteria, which has made headlines in recent weeks for being linked to Blue Bell Ice Cream products, was detected in its Classic Hummus during a routine inspection. A nationwide voluntary recall has already been issued, and H-E-B has already pulled the products from its shelves.
Thirty thousand cases have been recalled, but the action is limited to 5 SKU's which Sabra has listed on its website.
To date the have been no reports of anyone falling ill due to eating contaminated Sabra products.
