This week: take the reins as a real, live Western horseback rider, as advertised by this Craigslist post
The job is actually at Keith Ranches, a horse breeding establishment in Bulverde, about 30 miles outside San Antonio. Keith Ranches' website
, which hearkens back to simpler times when GeoCities sites still roamed free across the Internet, says it specializes "in safe, gentle horses for the beginner, novice, intermediate and experienced rider."
But those horses need riders, and that could be you. Here's the full job description as it appears on Craigslist:
Keith Ranches is now taking applications and interviewing for horseback riding positions. You must ride "Western." You must be in good physical condition, and can mount a 15 hand horse without struggling or needing mounting blocks. You must have "Western Trail Riding Experience", and be willing to follow instructions. This is not a " Trainer Position" You will be expected to ride a minimum of 6 horses per day, for an hour each, and will start out at $10.00 per horse. You will ride a minimum of 2 days, and could ride up to 6 days in some weeks. This could become a salary job with bonuses for the right people. Be sure to advise me of your age, height, weight, riding ability (riding references), and if possible a picture of you horseback. The days will be working with men and other women. You must have reliable transportation. Computer skills are a plus. Thank You for your interest. Mrs. Jodie Keith

For all you cowboys trapped in cubicles and vaqueros stuck selling vacuums, this may be your new calling. Ride six horses, make $60. What more could you want?
Whether you've got one or you need one, jobs can be a drag. So in a new
