Deep breaths? Bubble baths? Beer? Enya? All of the above?

Whatever works.

Relax, Spurs fans.

While the Spurs current 2-1 hole to the Memphis Grizzlies isn’t ideal, it’s certainly not impossible.

Face it Spurs fans, you have been spoiled.

You don’t know how to handle basketball adversity. Your gut reaction is to panic.

You have (responsibly) celebrated four NBA Championships in the last 12 seasons.

For 14-straight seasons, an active NBA record, you’ve been afforded the opportunity to watch a Spurs playoff game.

You forgot what it feels like to win less than 50 games in a season.

Your team managed to stay not only relevant, but extremely competitive, immediately after losing a legend in David Robinson.

Your coach is the second longest tenured coach of the four major professional sports.

You have Sean Elliott as your television announcer - the biggest, most entertaining homer local announcer in the league.

You miraculously won the lottery ball that paved the way for drafting Tim Duncan. Enough said.

Your team’s talent scouting, player development, and overall general management is seen as the gold standard in the league.

You organically built a big-three that ESPN has yet to use in a Sportscenter commercial. (Explain that?)

Your team’s supporting cast of role players willingly buy into the system, and if turmoil arises they address it in-house.

Your team made drafting and developing international players not only cool, but necessary.

Okay, you get it.

Tomorrow night, the Spurs face the Grizz’ in hopes of tying the series as it heads back to San Antonio for game five on Wednesday night.

Thus far, the teams have both scored 279 points. It’s been the grimy, grind it out basketball that demands a post-game shower even by the viewer.

Regardless of the outcome, I know it’s hard to do, relax and just experience these moments.

The cliched truth is that all good things must come to an end.

But, the greater truth in this case, is that this Spurs-Grizz’ series is far from any end.

If you want to count to five titles, you're going to need to count to five first.
