Saturday 9/17: printing with a steamroller at Blue Star

Posted By on Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 5:07 PM

Early Saturday morning the rain might come, but the printers of Art to the 3rd Power, Paul Karam, Luis Valderas and Kim Bishop, don't think it will stop their outdoor printing press. Might just cool things off a bit before they begin their show at 10 am, when  a steamroller starts rolling out 4 by 8 foot wood block prints at  "A Texas Size Print," held in the Blue Star parking lot. Printing with the assistance of  60 volunteers, including students from Brakenridge  and Clark high schools, they will create 33 unique collaborative prints, that when assembled will become the largest mono-print in Texas. The day will also include a print raffle, music by Agosto Cuellar, aka D.J. Refried, and RockerDogz (Gourmet Street Dogz) will be on location. This event, held in collaboration with Blue Star Contemporary Art Center, is free and open to the public.

Free, 10am - 4pm Saturday Sept 17, Blue Star Arts Complex. For more info visit
