Art supplies round-up for schools at Blue Star

I'm all for free art, but who's buying the art supplies?  In the public schools, it's often the art teachers, paid for out of their own pockets. Not that they've got money to burn, but art supply budgets are impossibly low. You can help.

To celebrate Contemporary Art Month, Blue Star Contemporary Art Center (with help from Spare Parts) will be accepting materials & supplies for art education in local schools, this Thursday and Friday, March 1 & 2, from 6-9pm.

We're not talking French linen and sable brushes: baby food jars and bottle caps (clean) for mixing paints, office paper (even used on one side), duct tape and crayons would be a great help. Any abandoned musical instruments stuck in the corner? Bring 'em in. Oh, if you do have some spare canvasses, bring them in, too. The want-list of art supplies is here, or visit sparepartsstudio.org
