Good art fast: poster contest for Eastside music fest

Area artists who want to give the Eastside a little love, and get a chance at winning $1,000 are asked to enter their poster design for the 2012 SAGE Music Festival. Deadline is next Monday, August 27.The inaugural SAGE Music Festival is a one day, family-friendly music event held at the new Wheatley Heights Sports Complex, a 170-acre outdoor multi-sport facility. Throughout the day, families can enjoy live performances of several different music genres, including: Gospel, Hip –Hop, R&B, Salsa, Tejano, Country and Blues, culminating with special performances by Jazz standout Michael Ward We wanted to encourage local artists to produce and showcase their work through exploring community and music,” said Jackie Gorman, executive director of SAGE. “This concept is the heart of the upcoming SAGE Music Festival.”San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE) is a non-profit organization serving as an economic development resource for current business owners and potential new businesses moving into our community. Artwork must be delivered to SAGE’s offices at 1149 East Commerce, Suite 210 by 4:30 pm Monday, August 27. For more information about the poster contest or festival, please visit SAGE’s website at
