Pick of the Day: 29th Annual Jazz'SAlive

The Parks Foundation and the City of San Antonio's free outdoor jazz festival returns to Travis Park for two days of live music on two stages. Saturday's performances on the Jefferson Street Stage include Midtown Jazz Sound (noon), Saxophone Summit with John Magaldi and Eddie Olivares (1:15pm), Lee “Sparky” Thomason Quintet (2:30pm), Ulterior Motive (3:45pm), and Red Young Trio (4:45pm). Saturday's performances on the Bud Light Stage include the Air Force Band of the West’s Dimensions in Blue (6pm), Kirk Whalum (8pm), URBAN-15, and Afro Bop Alliance with Dave Samuels, Joe McCarthy, Vince Norman, and Memo Acevedo (9:45pm). Sunday's performances on the Jefferson Street Stage include O’Connor High School Jazz Ensemble (noon), Jacqueline Sotelo (1:15pm), Powerhouse Big Band (2:30pm), and Philip Marshall’s Estuary with special guest Jason Marsalis (3:45pm). Sunday's performances on the Bud Light Stage include Lao Tizer featuring Chieli Minucci and Karen Briggs (6:30pm), URBAN-15, and headliners Béla Fleck and the Marcus Roberts Trio featuring Jason Marsalis and Rodney Jordan (8:30pm).
