After seven years of exploring exotic, isolated, and war-torn locales for his four-time Emmy-winning Travel Channel series No Reservations, chef, author, and television personality Anthony Bourdain announced he’d be leaving the network to launch two new primetime shows: a food and travel series for CNN and the ABC cooking competition The Taste. No Reservations’ final episode aired Monday and brought Bourdain back to his hometown of New York City to investigate the borough of Brooklyn. Well known for his memoir Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, the “professional gadfly, bête noir, advocate, social critic, and pork enthusiast” is on tour with Guts and Glory, an uncensored evening of candid insight likely to touch on his experiences with fetal duck egss, raw seal eyeballs, and other delicacies. $32-$147; 7:30pm Thu, Nov 8; Laurie Auditorium, 715 Stadium Drive, (210) 999-8117, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
