Bruce Auden and Perny Shea from the iconic River Walk restaurant Biga on the Banks are asking for your help. Emma, the 8-year-old daughter of Biga executive sous chef Daniel Dirmeyer, has been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. She is undergoing radiation therapy five days a week.
To help Emma and her family financially, and give moral support, Auden and Shea will host Chefs for Chefs, a benefit brunch, food station event at Biga on Sunday January 20 from noon until 3 p.m. The SA culinary community has stepped up to the plate with a stellar line-up of chefs committed to help and man their own stations including: Mark & Lisa Bliss, Jason Dady, Chad Carey, Diana Barrios Trevino, Andrew Weismann, Zack Lutton, Gabriel Ibarra, Lisa Filip, Steven McHugh, Brian West, Luca de la Casa, and Damien & Lisa Watel.
Ultimat Vodka will be sponsoring the Bloody Mary Bar, and there will be a winery presence. Henry Brun and the International Trio will be donating their musical talents to the cause. Biga staff and others will be donating their time. In addition, gift certificates from chefs in Dallas, Houston, and Austin will be up for auction.
All inclusive cost is $125 per person. For more information, visit Team Emma’s Facebook, or call Perny at (210) 225-0722. Tickets may also be purchased at the Culinaria website. Only 300 tickets are available.
