STAPLE! Indie Media Expo

If you want to get in on the ground floor of the underground comics scene as an artist or a fan, this weekend is your chance. Just up road in Austin, it’s comics central with STAPLE!, the 9th  annual Independent  Media Expo, happening March 2-3 at the Marchesa Hall and Theater.

2013 panel moderators will include Austin Chronicle writer Richard Whittaker, actor and artistic director at Gnap! Theater Projects Shannon McCormick, director and International Academy of WebTV member Mark Gardener, and dungeon master/pastor at The Well: A. Jason Jones. STAPLE! features six panels, several performances, 150-plus exhibitors, and satellite events. Also participating are comic artists James O’Barr, Steve Niles, and Bernie Wrightson; veteran game designers Jason Morningstar, Jeff Dee, and Marc Majcher; webtv icons Danni Danger, Sara Reihani, and Jessica Mills; cult-favorite animators Dax Norman, Kyle Sullivan, Bill Byrne, and Mongrel Studio Productions; rising-star podcasters Geek Bombast, Chris Cox, Martin Thomas, The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen, and The Random Access Web TV Podcast, and tons more. One-day passes are $10, 2-days, $15.
