After L1fe and Ghostpizza Collaborate for Funky Swap Meet

Posted By on Thu, Jul 25, 2013 at 4:31 PM

“I have an idea, let’s all rave to our favorite progressive tunes and swap a bunch of our vintage fad items” – said by no one ever. But, why not? Nationally acclaimed talent collective, Ghostpizza and local St. Mary’s boutique, After L1fe have teamed up to bring the Alamo City its very first swap meet (with a twist).

If you’re on an open search for your favorite '80s pop-star on a t-shirt, a funky cross-body tote featuring your favorite Disney character, or an original Looney Tunes throwback pullover, After L1fe should be your first stop. The collaborative brainchild of Katalya Bustos and Elena Hernandez-Peña, the trendy shop stocks hard-to-find vintage favorites in the form of apparel, décor and random accessories.

With the goal in mind to offer locals the opportunity to meet up and swap handmade or second-hand items in somewhat of a nightlife atmosphere, After L1fe has merged with Ghostpizza to make it possible. A like-minded chosen-family of musicians, DJs, rappers and artists, Ghostpizza is a nationally acclaimed organization whose ultimate goal in life is quite simple–to live, and have a good time doing it. Appearing at San Antonio venues such as Limelight and Hi-Tones (amongst many others), Ghostpizza has also been featured at the tremendously famed music festival known as SXSW.

The swap event will take place at Limelight tonight beginning at 8 p.m. and venturing into the wee hours of the night. Having no set rulebook, coordinators of the event have stated that they will have zero say in the buy, sell or trade aspect of the event, and that all agreements must be made and settled between both swap parties.

Organizers are asking all who wish to set up tables to sell arrive at 7 p.m. in order to have ample time to do so, and bring all equipment and supplies needed to complete transactions – including your own table. The swap meet is free to all who want to attend, but isn’t kid friendly (18+ only).

So, pack up and relocate your beloved vintage or odd-ball trinkets and your packrat fad collections from former decades to the After L1ife/Ghostpizza collab swap meet. The only downfall, you might leave with twice as many funky one-of-a-kind items than you arrived with.

More information on the event can be found here.
