1.) Run with SAMA: Run Wild Sports Tuesday Night Runs at SAMA

Run, run, as fast as you can with the San Antonio Museum of Art! Join SAMA and Run Wild Sports for a leisurely run. Runners of all levels are welcome, so you don’t have to run as fast as Forest Gump to come to this event. This event is a 5 – 10 minute talk on fitness in SAMA’s Collection; also run and walk with professional coaches and runners from The Synergy Studio. Aside from the fact that this event is free, you can receive 10 % off in the SAMA Shop. So you can run for fitness, education, and towards discounts in the SAMA Shop.

2.) Stephen Jiminez, The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths about the Murder of Matthew Shepard

Wednesday, Nov. 13, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Twenty-one-year-old gay college student Matthew Shepard was viciously murdered in 1998. Author Stepehen Jiminez began investigating what he believed to be an open-and-shut case of bigoted violence but as he delved further into the facts he found out so much more. Find out for yourself about what really happened to Matthew Shepard and the other facts around this case by reading The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths about the Murder of Matthew Shepard. You can also talk to the author, Stephen Jiminez during this book signing and discuss the facts of the case.

3.) Zane Williams

Thursday, Nov. 14, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.


It’s another great night of country music at Gruene Hall, this time Zane Williams and his country rhythm will grace the stage! His songs talk about his musical journey and relatable life journeys. Come listen to Zane Williams and his smooth country tunes that will make you feel good about life at Gruene Hall.

4.) An Evening with Hyperbubble

Thursday, Nov. 14, 6:30 p.m.

Hyperbubble is turning 10! To celebrate Hyperbubble's tenth year of playing live, the pop-art pair will be giving a Ten Year Anniversary Performance live at the McNay Art Museum. This show will be a blast from their past and as well as a look into their musical future. The night begins with an exhibition talk by Rozalyn Shwartz at 6:30, followed by Hyperbubble starting at 7 PM. There will be a food truck from Rickshaw Shop, and drinks with ID from Third Shift and Glazers.

5.) Reaching for the Stars: The Inspiring Story of a Migrant Farm worker Turned Astronaut

Friday, Nov. 15, 5 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Jose M. Hernandez, born into a family of migrant workers, always dreamed of being an astronaut. Although NASA turned him down eleven times, he still continued on in pursuit of his dream and became the first Mexican-American astronaut. Find out about his trials and tribulations in Reaching for the Stars: The Inspiring Story of a Migrant worker Turned Astronaut and talk to Hernandez himself at the Twig Book Shop this Friday.

6.) The Dead Barons with King Pelican

If you want a night of rock and roll then you should head over to The Mix to hear The Dead Barons and King Pelican! They will be sure to rock, roll, and knock your socks off!

7.) Alejandro Padilla: The Life Perverse

Saturday, Nov. 16, 5:30-8:30 pm

Alejandro Padilla reveals manifestations of his personal struggle to face and overcome trauma-induced anxiety in his series of oil paintings and ink drawings, The Life Perverse. See how he uses color and form to bring these manifestations to life. The exhibit opens with a reception, which is open the public, on Saturday, November 16, from 5:30-8:30 pm. The evening includes poolside (weather permitting) food and wine with live music by Joaquin Abrego and Jacinto Guevara.

8.) Market Square Tamalada

Saturday, Nov. 16 – Sunday, Nov 17, noon – 6 p.m.

If you want to your weekend to be full of delicious tamales (I mean, who wouldn’t want that) then head on over to Market Square Tamalada! This is a two-day event full of local entertainment, arts and crafts, children's activities, food and more. So grab some tamales and enjoy the day at Market Square Tamalada.

9.) Free Family Day! Live from the Red Carpet

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to walk on the red carpet? Well, wonder no more, this dream can become a reality! Experience everything the red carpet has to offer, tour Cut! Costume and the Cinema, get into character by creating costumes and participate in workshops in song, dance, and acting by the Northside Performing Arts Center. After all the glamour of the red carpet, and the thrill of the stage and screen, also experience the excitement of a flash mob! At the end of the day you will get to perform in a flash mob on museum grounds. So if you love to perform this is an event for you.

10.) Nemcatacoa Teatro

Sunday, Nov. 17, 4 p.m.

Nemcatacoa Teatro, an acrobatic stilt-walking ensemble, currently touring with Hojarasca Musica Andina, presents“Landscape Re-Invention Society”. There will also be a community workshop and performance so come see the performance and be a part of the show!
