This Wednesday evening, the San Antonio Museum of Art is offering free admission to its exhibition “Matisse: Life in Color.” While general admission is usually $25, tickets for “pop-up free hours” (as billed by SAMA) will be available at the door from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. To preserve the viewing experience and allow people their personal space, only 80 guests are admitted per half hour. The rest of the museum will be closed for the evening.

In his review for the CurrentDon Goddard wrote "Overall, 'Matisse: Life in Color' is a sumptuous journey through the mind of one of the towering figures of modern art, whose work is richly complex yet a joy to see." Organized and circulated by the Baltimore Museum of Art, we only have one month left to experience the most comprehensive show of Henri Matisse, master of nudes, in San Antonio. So if the sticker price has been holding you back from this incredible show, now is your time to pop in.
