We featured the playful illustrations of Tateno Ayako during the playoffs when
he published a series of anime-style depictions of our favorite players. His
Tumblr is a catalog of his love for the NBA, featuring players past and present drawn in the artist's distinct style. Even the most die-hard of Spurs fans have to admit that the
Charles Barkley one is pretty good. (This
Kawhi Leonard one is even better.)
Ayako hasn't published many illustrations since the Spurs won the NBA Championship, but he's publishing his drawings again now that basketball season is picking up steam, and
Manu Ginobili is the first player this season he's chosen to portray.

It appears that prints of Ayeko's work are not available, which is a shame, because as far as we're concerned, he can have all our money. You can
buy stickers featuring a cartoon basketball player of his own creation, though. We guess that'll have to do for now. (While were on the topic of unavailable prints, now is a good a time as any to say that J.O. Applegate should—no, must—reprint his illustration of
David Robinson and an anthropomorphic donut.)
