San Antonio Film Festival Kicks-Off Tonight With Free Screening

The 21st annual San Antonio Film Festival begins tonight at Pearl. We'll have detailed coverage in this week's issue when it comes out tomorrow, but here's some details on opening night. 

Screenings will occur tomorrow through Sunday at the Tobin Center of the Performing Arts, but the festival kicks-off with a free screening of four short films Tuesday evening at the Pearl Stables, beginning at 7 p.m. Tonight's schedule of films are as follows

"Movie Mind Machine"
Two movie buffs invent a memory-erasing machine that allows them to watch their favorite movies over and over again like the first time. Starring Ron Funches and Matt Braunger. Dir. Maureen Bharoocha, Los Angeles, CA, 12 min

Carlos Neiderhauser is a man in love with solving puzzles and finding the rightful place for all the stuff in the universe. He has amassed more than 100 properties in the Eastern panhandle of West Virginia and has indirectly been fixing the housing crisis one house at a time by providing micro finance to marginalized families. "Milk Run"

Milk Run is a short dramatic comedy about Petey, an 80-year-old pianist, who (on the verge of finishing his long-overdue masterpiece) is given a task to get milk for his wife so she can make their Saturday morning pancakes. These individuals, from 10 days to 101 years old, offer funny, touching and inspiring stories as they share their perspectives about what it means to be old.
