The next installment of PechaKucha (literally translates to chit chat in Japanese) looks like it has a lot of potential. The event brings participants together to talk about just about anything, be it their work, their passion or their hobbies, and asks them to present a slideshow (20 slides at 20 seconds each).

Held once more inside the air conditioned Charline McCombs Empire Theatre, PK19 will take place on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m. (side note: The Arneson was a great idea in theory, but we ended up sitting in a giant bowl of sweat for three hours). A $5 donation gets light snacks and a seat. Here's the lineup:

Mary Heathcott, Executive Director of Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum. You can read more about Heathcott's turn as director here: "Blue Star Risen: Director Mary Heathcott Demonstrates Depth and Range."
