Ah, real monsters! Wonderland of the Americas will be a zombie-infested wasteland this Saturday and Sunday with vendors galore (gore?). So hold onto your wallet and your brain to shop 'till you drop, in this case, dead. It'll be like Dawn of the Dead, the 1978 George Romero horror masterpiece, but with more shopping, cosplayers, vendors and less death and motorcycles.

Special guest include actor Ken Sagoes, who starred in both A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, horror writer Tim Miller, accomplished actor Osvaldo Fernandez who most recently was featured in Jurassic World as an uncredited soldier, Granbury Ghosts and Legends Tour co-founder Brandy Herr among other actors, writers and featured cosplayers.

What's a con without panels? Numerous horror-themed panels will take place, including special effects makeup tips, ghost stories and writing workshops.

Beauty and brains will go hand-in-hand at the Zombie Beauty Pageant. Think Miss America, but with more guts and less glam. A zombie shooting gallery will test your shot and maybe even prepare you for the anticipated  zombie apocalypse.

With over 100 vendors setting up shot at Monster-Con, consumers can expect a wide array of goods, including handmade soaps, yummy baked treats, custom jewelry and more. A full list of vendors can be found here

Free, Saturday 10am-9pm, Sunday 12pm-6pm, Wonderland of the Americas, 4522 Fredericksburg Rd, (210) 785-3500
