You gotta know by now that Dave Chappelle certainly is not "crazy." The comedic genius who could never hear "I'm Rick James, bitch!" again and it would be too soon, famously walked away from a $50 million contract with cable giant Comedy Central during the filming of his third and fourth season and flew to Africa to clear his head, something brilliantly documented in his intimate discussion with James Lipton on Inside the Actors Studio

Unfortunately, Chappelle's work, the genius skits and hilarious hijinks seen in Half-Baked, Chappelle's Show and, perhaps most importantly, his standup specials Killin' Them Softly and For What It's Worth were, for a period, ignored by the media, preferring to cast him as a crack smoking race monger who must be crazy to walk away from so much money. Sweet precious money.

Fortunately, Chappelle's back doing what he does best: waxing and philosophizing on the fucked up, backwards, shake-your-head-sad despicable nature of modern life, Hollywood, celebrities, the United States, race relations and anything else that he sets his nimble mind to, pulling apart the intricacies and discursive properties of modern culture.

Although more information is currently unknown, what is established is that Dave Chappelle, one of our greatest  social critics and theorists, will be performing two sets of his trademark observations at the Aztec Theatre on June 14, at 7 and 10 p.m.

Stay tuned for more info on ticket prices and when they will be going on sale to the general public. And for the love of Chappelle, please, people, don't come up in the Aztec screaming "I'm Rick James, bitch!"

If you must, yell something with a little tact, like "You know how long it took me to train this monkey to suck my dick ... without peeling?!"
