Did Mavericks' Salah Mejri Really Try to Trip Patty Mills?

Posted By on Thu, Dec 14, 2017 at 1:26 PM

Some shade went down during the Spurs' last game on Tuesday night.

A Twitter account named The Render uploaded a video of the Spurs walking off the court, during which point guard Patty Mills stumbles.
If you look a little closer, you'll see Mavericks center Salah Mejri get in Mills' way. It appears that Mejri is tripping or maybe even lightly kicking Mills. Another Dallas player can be seen reaching toward Mejri as if to get him to keep on walking.

It's not Mejri's first run-in with the Spurs. Two years ago, during Tim Duncan's last season (pour one out for my homie), Mejri aggressively yelled at Coach Gregg Popovich and the Spurs bench after dunking a shot.
Popovich and Duncan later laughed about it, since the whole thing was somewhat random. Perhaps it was because the Mavericks were down by 21. Or maybe because he was the backup for Zaza Pachulia, who San Antonio knows well enough that he plays dirty as well.

Hopefully Mejri won't be up to his usual antics when the Spurs and Mavericks match up again this Saturday.
