The players selected for this year's NBA All-Star Game were announced Tuesday, and forward LaMarcus Aldridge will be the lone Spur to representing San Antonio.

With the NBA calling on fans across the league to vote for their favorite players to take part in the annual game, Aldridge earned the 12th spot, the first non-starter. This will be his sixth all-star appearance in seven years, and his second appearance as a Spur. Plus, it turns out Aldridge's selection is a big deal for the Spurs franchise. The team has been represented at the All-Star game for 20 seasons straight.
Naturally, teammates and fans alike think Aldridge is completely deserving. The honor comes after it was recently revealed that Aldridge told Popovich he wanted to be traded last summer. He said he wasn't confident in his abilities and felt that the legendary coach didn't want him on the team. Once Aldridge and Popovich got all the tension out on the table, the coach said Aldridge has been a much stronger player.

That much is obvious since he's earning recognition besides the All-Star nod.
Congratulations, LMA! Keep on making San Antonio proud.
