Tejana vocalists and Westside natives Rita “La Calandria” Vidaurri, Beatriz “La Paloma del Norte” Llamas, and Blanca “Blanquita Rosa” Rodríguez are Las Tesoros de San Antonio — a nostalgic supergroup organized by the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center.

Opening a second chapter for three vocalists who enjoyed successful music careers from the 1940s to the 1970s, the project pays tribute to trailblazers such as Lydia Mendoza and Eva Garza while honoring each member’s “lifelong personal and professional struggles against racism, sexism, homophobia, and poverty.”

Celebrated in Jorge Sandoval’s 2016 documentary Las Tesoros de San Antonio, A Westside Story, the trio comes together on Sunday to shed light on their many highlights and hurdles, and to pay tribute to the fourth Tesoro, Janet “Perla Tapatia” Cortez, who passed away in 2014.

Free, Sun March 11, 3-5pm, Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, 9922 San Pedro Ave., (210) 228-0201,
