Since bursting onto the music scene in 1985 with the hit single, “Conga,” Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, which includes her husband and record producer Emilio Estefan, created a blueprint for future generations of Latin pop singers.

Blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with a modern pop sensibility, the Estefans celebrated their Cuban-American roots and arose as one of the most successful crossover acts of all time. Along with a string of chart-topping hits, the couple has played an important role producing and managing other acts, from Jennifer Lopez to Shakira.

On Tuesday, the hit Broadway musical On Your Feet!, based on the Estefans and their music, arrives at the Majestic for a six-day run under the direction of Tony winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots). From Havana to Miami, the musical follows the Estefans’ journey to international superstardom set to hits like “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “Don’t Wanna Lose You” and “Reach.”

$32.25-$105, Tue March 13, 7:30pm (through March 18), The Majestic Theatre, 224 E. Houston St., (210) 226-3333,
