With Fiesta season rapidly approaching, it’s time for San Antonians to get serious about their partying, building that crucial tolerance and ratcheting up that festive glow for the glorious season of celebration.

Never to be outdone in terms of pre-gaming, the organizers of Fiesta Cornyation, which has been living up to its reputation as the bawdiest, zaniest and most irreverent Fiesta event since way back in 1951, invite you to kick off Fiesta season in righteous fashion with them as they crown their commander in crassness for the year King Anchovy LIII Charlie Biedenharn. While you have to wait until the end of April for the uproarious Dionysian spectacle of Cornyation proper, the King’s Coming Out! party is sure to whet your appetite.

This special event will feature live music, performances, food (from Bakery Lorraine among others) and booze aplenty. Proceeds from the swinging soiree benefit Fiesta Cornyation and its charities, which consistently include worthy organizations like San Antonio AIDS Foundation (SAAF), Black Effort Against the Threat of AIDS (BEAT AIDS), and Help, Action, Care (HAC).

$25 suggested donation, Thu March 29, 5:30pm-8:30pm, 7 Willow Way, squareup.com/store/fiesta-cornyation. — James Courtney
