Although he’s easily known best for the enduring Greater Tuna series he launched in 1981 with fellow playwright/actor/humorist Joe Sears and director Ed Howard, Texan wildcard Jaston Williams has established himself as a solo performer with one-man shows such as A Wolverine Walks into a Bar...Conversations Over Ice (in which he portrays a gun-toting Mary Kay saleswoman and an aging Auntie Mame clone, among other characters) and Clear to Partly Crazy (which combines vignettes about disasters caused by crazed relatives and Mother Nature alike).

The beloved Texas Panhandler’s latest sees him stepping into what appears to be a painfully hot chicken costume (complete with webbed flippers) to bring to life “pre-Tuna” stories involving a hearse-driving Alaskan cowboy, “the most nervous waiter in Texas” and a renaissance fair staged in a movie star’s home. In conjunction with its Second Series, the Classic Theatre of San Antonio closes out its run of the show with a string of six performances.

$25, 8pm Thu Jun 14-Fri Jun 15, 3pm & 8pm Sat Jun 16-Sun Jun 17, The Classic Theatre of San Antonio, 1924 Fredericksburg Road, (210) 589-8450,
