While Friday the 13th isn't a holiday per-say, it is an excuse to embrace your superstitious side. If you're looking for something to do other than avoid ladders, black cats and broken mirrors, consider catching one of these local events.

Brave A Ghost Tour
Test your limits of fear with a downtown ghost tour with RJA on one of the most cursed nights of the year. With all of San Antonio’s history, you already know you're going to see all the undead heavy hitters like old Davy Crockett ambling around the creepiest corners of the city. Secure your tickets here. $15-$20, 9pm, 300 Alamo Plaza, 1-800-407-1704.

Dancing Queen/Young & Sweet/On Friday The 13th
La Botanica is honoring Friday the 13th with only the spookiest of live sets. Dance to DJ LivEvil, Joshua Myles and Voodoo Boogaloo — who the event page described as basically biblical Mary and Joseph on acid with a Macbook. $3, 9pm-12am, 2911 N. Saint Marys St, (210) 716-0702

Permanently Alter Your Body
As always, select shops around town will be offering 13 dollar tattoos on the day in question. Tattoo shops and Friday the 13th are both goth so the collaboration makes sense. Choose from Alamo City Ink, Platinum Tattoos on Evers and 410, Nite Owl Tattoo Studio to name a few. Check out a more expanded list here.

Jason Dance Party
Don your best horror movie hunk looks (i.e. your Jason mask) for a chance to win $333 dollars. Contest begins at 11pm sharp. Haven't you always wanted to dance to the best bops of the 90's and 00's in a room full of ski masked strangers? Here's your chance. 9pm-2am, Industry Nightclub, 8021 Pinebrook, (210) 374-2765.
