Local Artists Are Erasing Kawhi Leonard from San Antonio's Landscape

Now that Kawhi Leonard's time in San Antonio has come to an end, some local artists want to erase Leonard from city's landscape.

In an effort to move on from Leonard – who whined about being traded near the end – local artists want to forget the superstar's time in San Antonio. Artist Adrian De La Cruz, who goes by @dlc_art1 on Instagram, is asking for ideas for a new mural to replace his Leonard mural located at Franky Diablos.
Lots of San Antonians still want the space to pay tribute to a Spur, according to the comments. Some suggestions include legends like Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Bruce Bowen, George Gervin or even Dennis Rodman. One user had the creative idea of a young and old Manu Ginobili.

Other users think it's time to pay tribute to players still making their mark on San Antonio, like LaMarcus Aldridge, Patty Mills or Dejounte Murray. Though jumping the gun, a few people even suggested DeMar DeRozan, who the Toronto Raptors traded for Leonard.

De La Cruz's mural is not the only one dedicated to the Klaw. Artist Alex James already painted over his own Leonard mural at Countdown City Cuts on the city's South Side. He added a classy "Tell your tio you're welcome," a jab at Leonard's uncle and business manager Dennis Robertson, who was reportedly influential in turning Leonard against the Spurs.
