While talking to the media about a recent spat between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Steph Curry is the short version of Tim Duncan.

Not because both players are considered legends in their respective franchises, but because they both have a calming presence in the locker room.

Kerr, a former Spur, said Curry's personality reminds him of Duncan and how he kept the peace within the team. It makes sense that Duncan would serve as the neutral voice of reason among teammates as he is an embodiment of the Spurs' reserved, no-frills presence in the league. The Spurs had their fill of drama with the year-long saga with Kawhi Leonard, but it's hard to imagine what the players in the early aughts could have argued about. According to Kerr, there was a lot going on off the court.
“Pop would tell you. Well, actually Pop would not tell you, but we went through a lot of things back then,” Kerr said.

Maybe Manu Ginobili will write a memoir now that he's retired and fans will find out then, but we definitely won't be getting the chisme from the quiet Duncan.
