The Historic Pearl will host its second annual Posada at Pearl in the traditional spirit of the Christmas holiday. Father David Garcia and Las Misiones will lead guests through a retelling of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.

Posadas have been celebrated throughout Latin America, Spain, Mexico and the United States for more than 400 years, marking nine days of religious reenactments and activities for all to enjoy. Each year, posada attendees visit different houses each night during the religious novena to ask for lodging just as scripture says Mary and Joseph did on the eve of Jesus’ birth.

As a recreation of the biblical quest, Posada at Pearl guests will make their way through the stage in Pearl Park with candlelights to honor the beloved “novena” holiday of prayer, thanks, and Christmas celebrations. Attendees will be able to enjoy live music, crafts, piñatas, and traditional Mexican treats from Ms Chocolatier, True Flavors Catering, San Antonio Buñuelo Co., and more.

Free, Wed Dec. 19, 6-9pm, The Historic Pearl, 303 Pearl Pkwy, 210-212-7260, atpearl.com.
