It may not be the end of the world, but whenever you give a glance to the day’s headlines it can certainly feel like it.

To ring in 2019, experimental art space Sala Diaz is leaning into that anxiety with a dystopian-themed party that celebrates all things cyberpunk: autonomous cars and surveillance-state alike! Squeeze into some holographic spandex and head to Southtown to dance out the year with your fellow replicants and robots as DJ DADA and DJ lil dad spin out a science-fiction soundtrack. Even the drinks are bleeding edge — champagne jello shots and space-flavored punch are on the menu, freshly whipped up in the replicator for your enjoyment.

And since even the most future-minded among us can’t help but be thrilled by the ancient technological marvel of pyrotechnics, it’s fortunate that Sala Diaz is perfectly situated to provide a glimpse of the city’s fireworks show at midnight.

Free, Mon Dec. 31, 8pm-1am, Sala Diaz, 517 Stieren St., (972) 900-0047, saladiazart.org.
