Environmental Working Group asks you to demand labeling for GMOs

Try to identify just how many genetically modified foods you're eating every day and you may have a difficult time. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are most likely hiding in your cereal, cookies, crackers, lunch meat, chips, fried foods, and even in your corn on the cob and baked potato. Because GMOs require no special labeling (yet) in the United States, you could say that you've been "dining in the dark." In fact, identifying GMOs can sometimes be close to impossible for consumers because soy and corn extracts and additives are often listed under alternate names on nutrition labels. Meanwhile, other consumers aren't even aware of GMOs, why they pose a threat, or that our food supply is being altered right under our noses. The Environmental Working group has had enough of GMOs, their associated health problems, and their risks to the planet. EWG is encouraging consumers to join in their Just Label It Campaign, pressuring the FDA to finally put a label on GMO foods, thereby giving consumers a choice -- to buy GMO or not. EWG has started working with more than 300 organizations to launch their Just Label It campaign and are asking you to do the same and get involved. Sign the petition to the FDA to demand labeling, pass it on to friends and family on social media, and watch their Dining In The Dark video (below).
