Villa Finale (401 King William) wasn't always a sleepy museum with a kick ass garden–It's got some history. Billy Keilman, who owned VF from 1924-1925 with wife Minnie, operated a brothel in the home and bootlegged liquor from the basement.  Their new venture was known locally as the Marathon Club," according to VF's website.

To celebrate one of its most colorful owners, the venue will host 1920s themed bash on Saturday, October 12, 5:30-7:30 with jazz, dancing, costume contest, finger foods catered by Liberty Bar and brew from Alamo Beer, Branchline Brewing Co, Guadalupe Brewing and more.

Admission includes a souvenir cup and all snacks and booze. Call for tickets, $35 for members; $40 for nonmembers. (Mention the Current and receive member prices. Yay, reading!)
