In Mondays-are-the-worst news, Boneshakers Tap House and Pizzeria (306 Austin) has a announced it will close its doors by year's end. The bar, which relocated from the Southside bank of the San Antonio River at 116 W Mitchell in mid-2012 to the Dignowity Hill Historic District, was known for its solid craft beer lineup and equally great musical fare (they were one of the Current's San Antonio Music Awards showcase venues for a reason).

General manager JP Perez said there were "quite a few different reasons" for closing the bar, while also citing life as the most important of them. Perez says he and his four business partners decided to explore different ventures, while hinting at two beer-based projects off Brooklyn down the street from the Alamo Brewery coming to fruition in the next few months, possibly early January.

"We love the neighborhood and want to stay here," Perez said via text.

As for Boneshakers, fans will get a chance to fill up on great beer through the end of the year. No specific last day has been set, but patrons can expect a big blow out on New Year's Eve much like in years past.
