Culinaria's January 19 Chefs for Chefs benefit at Biga on the Banks (203 S St Marys) will lend a helping hand to Steve Silbas. Silbas and wife, Barbara Wolfe, who passed away suddenly in December, were the former owners of Casbeers and Casbeers at the Church of South Alamo.

In 2013, the Chefs for Chefs brunch benefited Emma, the daughter of Biga on the Banks' executive sous chef Daniel Dirmeyer.

The 2014 benefit will help ease some of the bills Silbas has incurred while waiting for a kidney transplant and after Wolfe's passing. Confirmed chefs enlisted for the brunch include Biga on the Banks team, Blanca Aldaco (Aldaco's), Mark Bliss (Bliss), John Brand (Las Canarias & Ostra), Jason Dady (Tre Trattoria, Two Bros BBQ & Umai Mi), Zach Lutton (Zedric's), Steve McHugh (Cured at Pearl), Jesse Perez (Arcade Midtown Kitchen), Diana Barrios Trevino (Los Barrios, La Hacienda de Los Barrios & Viola's Ventanas), Jeff White (Boiler House), Damien Watel (Chez Vatel & Bistro), and Lisa Watel (Bite), according to the eventbrite link.

Tickets, $125 and limited to 300 attendees, available through Eventbrite at this link:
