First Course Fodder: Spring Menu at Max’s Wine and New Juicer Heroes

First Course brings in exciting food news to you in tiny, digestible bits.

Bring on the sun. Max’s Wine Dive (340 E Basse) has announced their new spring menu with small and large plates, soups, salads and desserts with local and seasonal ingredients. On the spring menu is barbacoa con masa cakes, avocado hummus, BBQ chicken, quinoa-stuffed poblano, spinach salad, quinoa salad, pecan apricot bread pudding and caramel apple crème brûlée.

San Antonio is getting more juicy. Juicer Heroes (15337 San Pedro) is opening a new location at Éilan on Tuesday, April 1. The heroes also plan to open a Stone Oak location in a few months.

Colorado-based restaurant company, GROUP970 Restaurants is making its way down south to Texas. Two new restaurants, Blue Moose Pizza and 188 South will open in New Braunfels in June. Family friendly Blue Moose Pizza, features a menu with New York style pizza, salads, Italian subs, and classic entrees like lasagna. The newest concept, 188 South will be a modern, Italian inspired restaurant.
