First Course: Stella $10 pizza holiday, Lüke Creole brunch and barbaco at Boiler House

First Course Fodder brings in exciting food news to you in tiny, digestible bits.

Stella Public House (1414 S Alamo) is celebrating Memorial Day with a $10 pizza holiday. All weekend from Saturday, May 24 to Monday, May 26 the margarita and spicy italian sausage pizza are each $10. Founder centennial IPA is also on a $5 pint special.

Lüke's (125 E Houston) own Chef John Russ is hosting a Creole brunch on Sunday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Frederickburg's Marktplatz as a part of the Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival. The brunch menu includes crawfish summer rolls, mini crawfish pies, crawfish po'boys, crawfish étouffée, Cajun eggs Benedict and banana fosters. Tickets are $55 each or $450 for a table of eight.

If you're looking for a Sunday hangover cure, look no further. Boiler House Texas Grill and Wine Garden (312 Pearl) will cook up barbacoa and Big Red brunch every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Chef Jeff White is adding barbacoa a la carte dishes ($12), Big Red Sangria ($5) and Big Red Floats ($8) to the Sunday brunch menu.

South Texas Heritage Pork (2890 Lucas) has been chosen to provide one of their custom fed heritage hogs for the Grand Cochon 555 culinary competition in Aspen. To help raise funds for the event, South Texas Heritage Pork is taking $25 donations. Each donation will have the chance to win one whole roaster pig to be picked up late summer or early fall.
