Saturday, May 31: Caprese salads wouldn’t be complete without fresh basil. Load up on the leafy herb during this year’s Basil Fest at the Pearl Farmers Market. The San Antonio Herb Market Association will host basil enthusiasts for seminars, gardening activities for the kiddos, recipes and plenty of basil plant varieties to buy. The event will include a Chef’s Challenge where area chefs will create basil-based appetizers for audience votes. Proceeds will go toward Meals On Wheels San Antonio. Tuesday, June 3: So what if you can’t find crepes in this town?
