Booze News: Saint Arnold's birthday bash, culinary treats at the Witte and National Mojito Day

On Wednedsay, July 9 at 6 p.m., Big Hops Growler Station (all locations) celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Saint Arnold Brewing Company with a special tapping of their 20th Anniversary barleywine ale along with an selected few Saint Arnold's brews on tap.

That same night, The Witte Museum (3801 Broadway) in collaboration with NAO (312 Pearl Pkwy), The Culinary Institute of America (312 Pearl Pkwy), GS 1221 (1221 Broadway) and Branchline Brewing Company, bring Salud! Culinary Night based on the theme "Suds, Ceviche and Salsa" at 6:30 p.m.  A selected menu will be presented to guests featuring distinct culinary creations from Chef Geronimo Lopez-Monascal and the crew at The Culinary Institute along with brews from GS 1221 and Branchline Brewing Company. Tickets are $45 for members of the Witte and $50 for non-members. Guests will also receive a complimentary wine glass to commemorate the event. You can purchase tickets here.

Not a fan of mojitos, huh? Well, according to The Brookynite (516 Brooklyn), NO-jito, no problem. On Friday, July 11, the popular dive bar is bringing their creation The Southtown Fizz to its lineup for the night. The cocktail uses a combo of gin, lime, mint and a few other ingredients to diverge from the traditional mojito. Viva Tacoland (103 W Grayson) also joins the festivities with their take on the classic minty cocktail for only $5 a pop.

On Saturday, July 12, 5 p.m., Missions Untapped (8123 Broadway) lets the folks behind Busted Sandal Brewing Co. take over their taps for one night only. For a standard price, patrons will be able to fill up on unlimited pours from Busted Sandal for two hours. Featured brews include the 210 ale, El Robusto porter, Fire Pit Wit and more.
