Booze News: New tiki menu at BKSA and a craft beer tasting

Booze News slings up the latest gulp downs around town every Tuesday.

Grab a lei for this boozy luau. The Brooklynite (516 Brooklyn) is celebrating a new tiki menu with a release party on Tuesday, July 29 at 7 p.m. Tailgate Bistro USA is roasting a pig for this event and BKSA is serving up fruity cocktails to go with.

Join Rosella Coffee Co. (203 E Jones) for jazz music, beer and wine on Friday, August 1 at 7 p.m. in the courtyard.

The Hangar Tavern (14532 Brook Hollow) is having another craft beer tasting on Wednesday, August 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. For $5 sample 10 craft beers from five different breweries and some bites to go with all that brew. Guests also get a $10 gift card and raffle ticket.

See a friendly movie at The Friendly Spot Ice House (943 S Alamo) with Big Trouble in Little China and Slab Cinema on Wednesday, August 6 at 8 p.m. See the 1986 classic on the big slab screen with craft brews and tasty bites.

Bar 1919 is shaking up a new menu with beer, wine, agave, whiskey, scotch, cigars and of course cocktails. A cocktail tasting will be on Tuesday, August 19 with six different cocktails made with gin, rum, scotch, bourbon and rye. The tasting includes preparation, demonstration and history of the cocktails. The tasting is $40 per person.

Its's a "super awesome bottle release day" at Freetail Brewing Co. (4035 NW Loop 1604) on Saturday, August 23. Bottles of American wild ale, Makaria and Endymion will be available along with fruited versions and more on tap.
